Comments on this week:
So this week has been one of contrasts in terms of weather and mood. Nature obviously has a sense of the theatrical. Or I do. Either way, I'm slightly glad this one is over, though there were some bits of it that were quite lovely. I think I need to do a bit more in terms of working on my fitness, when I'm sure this on-off cold is safely out of the way. I also plan to take some advice about actually using the waist strap on my rucksack, however annoying it gets, because it could well be helpful with the lower back pain I've been getting at the end of longer walks. I finally broke in my spare boots, since my main ones were still wet on Sunday, and they thankfully seem ok. I also have a new map carrier and a new map to go with it, both of which are about to come in very handy. I bought a book of Peak District walks that I'm thoroughly unimpressed with, sad to say. Some of the locations could probably be repackaged into something that might work for me at least.

Easter is coming, spring is advancing and the clocks are leaping forward once more. A bit more daylight will be welcome, though I'll be watching out for those April showers (and spending more time marking coursework than walking for the next few weeks). I'm also looking into new avenues through which to find sponsorship, though I'm finding more than one time when I'd like to be in two places at once in that respect. Walking comes first of course, but I'll have to see what I can work out.

This week's picture:

5 fluffy dogs (and 1 less fluffy) in one place! This gathering was much quieter than that might suggest. Maybe they are exceptionally well trained, maybe they are quieter in gatherings of this number, or maybe the presence of a sixth dog of a different breed acts as a quieting influence. Further study is needed. The fluffy thing in the lower left hand corner had just wandered out of shot, it heard the camera click and slunk back in and looked up at me with an expression that could variously be captioned as 'Ready for close-up now.', 'How dare you take the picture when I wasn't in shot?' or 'Sorry, was distracted by bacon sandwich. Take picture again.'
