Comments on this week:
It's been a difficult week. I've been feeling slightly under the weather, but at least I have a week off work coming up (and maybe one or two midweek walks). The walk on Sunday was really good, but getting there made it a very long day that I only managed to feel ok about by taking some work to do on the train. Trains aren't the best places to work, but I think I may still try to make that a habit. Walking to and from work is becoming almost automatic now, and is quite relaxing when I'm not pressed for time.
I have some business cards, and am doing much better at finding organized walks to join. Though I like to have things planned well in advance if there's much travel involved, it's still useful to keep checking things like the Ramblers website for upcoming walks. There are many more than I thought of suitable length and starting from somewhere easy to reach. I'm meeting lots of interesting people, though still being quite rubbish at asking them to sponsor me. I am however managing to pick up many more useful tips.
Since Millicent has been struggling with my bad posture on hills, she has acquired a sister, an expensive and sciency little yellow box called Henrietta. Millicent will still be on duty for short walks and city walks, and Henrietta will be taking care of distance measurement for most longer walks. When I figure out the rest of the instructions helpfully left out of the book that came with Henrietta, I may have more of a clue about where I've actually walked than I usually do.
This week's pictures:

Claire Bennett and some purple kohlrabi. I apologise for the randomness of that, it's a sort of note to self for when I look back on all this.
Quote of the week: Selfishness is not living as one wishes to live, it is asking others to live as one wishes to live. - Oscar Wilde
